Bridget Hustwaite first started experiencing painful periods when she was just 15, but it took over 12 years for her to finally get diagnosed with endometriosis, a disorder in which tissue similar to that which lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. Despite endo impacting 1 in 9 women and girls, there is still a huge amount of misinformation and misdiagnosis around the condition.

In this chat with Cass Dunn, Bridget explains:

  • The most common symptoms for endo
  • Why it took 12 years for her to be diagnosed
  • Why there is still so much misunderstanding around the condition
  • What treatments are available and how they work
  • Why excision surgery is the gold standard
  • Her hopes for women and girls diagnosed in the future
